Valley of Flowers National Park - India
The Valley of Flowers is one such an Indian National Park, located in West Himalaya, in the state of Uttarakhand. It is very much known for its meadows of endemic alpine flowers and the variety of flora. This place stands home for rare and endangered animals as just like the Asiatic Black Bear, Snow Leopard, Brown Bear, Musk Deer, Blue Sheep and Red Fox. Birds found include Himalayan Monal Pheasant and other high altitude birds.

At 3600 meters higher than sea level (3352 to 3658 meters) the beautiful landscape of the Valley of Flowers enhances the rugged mountain wild of Nanda Devi National Park to the east. Together they encompass a unique transition zone between the mountain ranges of the Zanskar and the Himalaya. The park stretches over an expanse of 87.50 km and it's concerning 8 k.m. long and 2 k.m. wide. Both parks are encompassed in the Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve (223,674 ha) which is further surrounded by a buffer zone (5,148.57 km²). This Reserve is in the UNESCO World Network of Biosphere Reserves since 2004.

The valley is famed to endow with over 520 species of higher plants and of that there are 498 flowering plants. This national park has many species of medicinal plants including the dactylorhiza hatagirea, picrorhiza kurrooa, aconitum violaceum, polygonatum multiflorum, fritilliria roylei and podophyllum hexandrum. Opening Time of Valley of Flowers
The Valley of Flowers National park remains open for visitors from 1st June to 31st October. The best time to visit Valley of Flowers is during July, August and September.

In May: The Valley of flowers becomes accessible in the last week of May when snow starts melting. In the month of May you will see a lot of snow but very less number of flowers. Advantage in visiting in May is that there will be no to less rain as the rainy season starts in the last week of June.

In July and August: As snow starts melting in May and new plants starts germinating and grow up till now. You will see a lot of flowers blooming till mid July. There are almost 650 varities of flowers in total that can be seen in Valley of Flowers. The Best time to see maximum number of flowers is mid July to Mid August.
In September: The September is the Automon season of Valley of Flowers. This is the last month for visiting valley of flower. The plants starts drying up and put their seeds on the earth for the next season. Slowly at the end of the month and in the Next Month snow starts falling and the valley becomes inaccessible. The Last official trip to Valley of Flowers is generally taken in the last week of September.
